Tucked away in Little River, just north of North Myrtle Beach, Vereen Memorial Gardens is a hidden gem for nature-loving cyclists. This 115-acre preserve offers natural surface trails through coastal forest, gardens, and along the Intracoastal Waterway.
The Trails
The gardens feature approximately 7 miles of dirt and natural surface trails. The terrain is moderate — mostly flat with some uneven sections. A mountain bike or hybrid is recommended.
What You'll See
The trails pass through beautiful memorial gardens, coastal forest with wildflowers, and offer stunning views of the salt marsh and Intracoastal Waterway. It's a paradise for bird watchers and nature photographers.
Why It's Special
Unlike the busy coastal paths, Vereen Memorial Gardens offers a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path cycling experience. It's the perfect escape when you want to get away from the tourist crowds and connect with nature.
