The Grand Strand stretches approximately 60 miles along the South Carolina coast from the North Carolina border to Pawleys Island. For endurance cyclists, this offers an incredible opportunity for a long-distance coastal ride.

Planning Your Route

While there isn't a single continuous trail, you can connect several paths and coastal roads to create a long-distance route. Start in North Myrtle Beach and head south, using the East Coast Greenway sections and coastal roads.

Key Sections

North Myrtle Beach to Myrtle Beach via the East Coast Greenway, then south to Murrells Inlet, and finally the Waccamaw Neck Bikeway to Pawleys Island. This gives you approximately 40-50 miles of riding.

What to Bring

For a long-distance ride, bring plenty of water and snacks, a repair kit, sunscreen, and a map or GPS. Plan rest stops at bike shops along the way.
